General FAQs

  • Is CollabMind mobile-friendly?

    Yes! It’s been designed specifically to designers, their clients, and contractors who are on the go in mind. The application will be fully accessible and responsive as long as you have an internet or cellular connection.

  • Do I need to install any software?

    CollabMind is a web-based software delivered to your device and used as an application (app).  All you need is an internet connection and enabled device like a smartphone, tablet, or computer. CollabMind is accessed through the App Store or Google Play Console.

  • How do I create a branded experience for my clients?

    When setting up your account you’ll be able to select up to three colors that will create a branded experience for all who are linked to your account.  You can also use your firm’s logo as the identity photo.

  • What does Dream, Design, and Build stand for?

    CollabMind divides each project into the three typical phases of a residential construction project to help better organize the information. The “Dream” section is for schematic design phase, “Design” is for the construction documentation (or blueprint) phase, while the “Build” tag encompasses the construction phase.

  • There are multiple designers in my office who need access to each project.  How is this managed?

    Within each project the Design Professional can add as many other designers – and clients and contractors – as they’d like to have access to the project.  All who have access to the project can participate in all aspects of CollabMind’s functionality.

  • Will clients always have access to their project through CollabMind?

    As long as the project is active in your account, clients and anyone else who has been added to the project, will be able to access information. Once you delete or archive a project, the information will be no longer be available.  Once a project is complete, we highly recommend exporting all information related to a project into a PDF for record.  This feature can be found on the home page.

  • I really like the Material Board feature and can see how useful it will be in helping my clients rank options. Once they’ve made those final choices, can I export the selected materials into one PDF?

    Yes. You’ll be able to export only those choices, by room or material type.

  • How do I customize fields to fit my project?

    For every project you’ll be able to customize the rooms that are part of the project, the types of drawings, what materials… just click on the “+” button whenever you see it to tailor the options for each project.

  • How does my client give feedback on drawings or images I’ve posted to the project?

    There is a star rating system for photos, drawings, and materials uploaded. In addition to the stars, any user can start a comment chain and/or use the mark-up tool.

  • How do I tag an item into my To-Do List?

    Any text inputted can be highlighted and pushed to the To-Do List. Once the pop-up appears you will be able to adjust the text, set priority and a due date. You can also add tasks to the To-Do List from that interface.

  • Sometimes I want to see my project management tools (calendar, to-do list, meeting notes) focused on one project but sometimes it’d be helpful to see the information for all of my projects together. Is this possible?

    Yes! For tablet, before selecting a project from the landing page, you would see those tools on the top bar. By clicking them, you can see all projects messages, calendars and to-do lists at once. For mobile, simply click the tool icons that appears in the bottom navigation bar before selecting a project to see all projects at once.

  • Can CollabMind run on a desktop computer?

    Yes, depending on the specifications of your desktop device. CollabMind will be available through the Apple App Store support with M-Chip MacBooks. PCs can also run CollabMind with the use of an emulator.

  • What does CollabMind connect to as a source for uploading materials?

    CollabMind will ask for access to your Camera, Gallery, and Files as sources for uploading materials. Files can be those located in your devices’ local storage or in select cloud-based services. The cloud-based file systems that CollabMind is currently integrated with are Google Drive, DropBox, Egnyte, and Sharepoint.

Subscription FAQs

  • Is the free trial the fully featured version?

    Yes! During the free trial you will have access to all features.  The only limitation will be in the number of projects and amount of data used.

  • If I decide to subscribe beyond the trial version, what happens?

    The subscription simply converts with payment and you won’t notice anything different in your use.

  • What is the pricing structure?

    The three subscription levels are:

    • Free: 1 project, 5 additional users, 3 GB file storage, limited file exports
    • Basic: 10 projects, 20 additional users (Team Members, Client, Contractor), 10 GB file storage, unlimited file exports
    • Premium: unlimited projects, additional users, and file exports, 500 GB file storage
  • What if I decide not to continue with the free trial?

    You will be able to export the data as a PDF file and delete your account.

Data FAQs

  • Is there a limit to the amount of data that can used by a design firm?

    No, you can add as many clients, projects, documents etc as you require. The different subscription price points come with differing amounts of storage for files. You can purchase more storage by upgrading to the next subscription level when required.

  • Is my data secure?

    Yes, we take data security very seriously. Only you and any users you add have access to your data. Plus, when you are logged in the connection is encrypted using industry standard SSL (the padlock icon in your browser address bar).

  • What if I decide not to continue with my free trial?

    You can delete your account anytime you would like. We will store all your personal information and content generated within the app 30 days on our system so you can restore your account and continue where you have left. However after the grace period ended, all of your data will be permanently deleted from our system. Please contact us at support@collabmind.com if you wish to restore your account.
